Join the Programming Team for the 18th Annual Bushwick Film Festival
We are excited to invite dedicated film lovers and professionals to apply to be on our Programming Team for the 18th Annual Bushwick Film Festival!
Programming team members play a key role in shaping the festival by reviewing submissions and selecting the films that will screen during the festival.
1. Film Knowledge & Experience
Minimum: 2+ years of experience in filmmaking, film programming, criticism, or related media arts.
Eligible Backgrounds Include:
Filmmakers with at least one short or feature film officially selected at a film festival (any tier).
Festival Screeners/Programmers from other recognized film festivals.
Film Critics/Bloggers with published reviews.
Film Graduates or Professors of a college, university, or film program.
Media Professionals working in production, post-production, or related creative fields.
Commitment to Fresh Perspectives
Supports BFF’s mission to champion emerging voices and original storytelling.
Ability to thoughtfully evaluate films that reflect a wide range of genres, experiences, and worldviews.
3. Professionalism
Meets all viewing and scoring deadlines.
Respects confidentiality of submissions.
Avoids conflicts of interest (cannot review films you worked on, financed, or have personal relationships with).
4. Requirements
Approximately 25 Hours of Screening & Review
Watch and score all assigned films using BFF’s official evaluation rubric.
Provide written feedback on films, especially those under final consideration.
Attend at least one programming meeting to discuss final selections.
